40 Years ago the best advice given to parents of “special” babies was: Do not take this baby home. Send it to an institution, and get on with your life. Sadly, some new parents are still being told the same thing.
The Arc is by and for those who want more for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. There has been much progress, but much more is still needed.
The Arc is on the frontlines providing services and advocacy so that even the most vulnerable can live fully and participate in their communities as contributing citizens. Illinois’ fiscal crisis makes funding raising dollars essential to keep our doors open.
Your donation is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Visit our website for more information at www.arcwbo.org
